Kolakham is located amidst the Neora Valley National Park in the district of Kalimpong. This small, peaceful village overlooks the panoramic beauty of the snow-clad mountain peaks of the Great Eastern Himalayas. It has an average altitude of 1981 meters (6500 ft). Located 8 km from Lava and 38 km from Kalimpong, Kolakham offers a majestic view of the mighty Kanchenjunga, the world's third highest peak along with its adjoining peaks, ie. Kabru, Kabru Dome, Pandim, Siniolchu and more. It is home to the unique Red Pandas
